A cap is one game played for South Africa at a FIT international event.

FIT has no rosters for 1999–2007, so caps for the World Cups of 1995, 1999, 2003 and 2007 and the Youth World Cups of 2001 and 2005 come from Thompson’s Almanac, as do 2011 caps for players FIT has no 2011 games for. Other events before 2011, and most 2015 lineups, are missing, so older players’ caps may be understated. Almanac caps have no division, so they count only while the type and gender filters are off. The Tries column adds Almanac tries (pre-2015, minus FIT’s own tries at those events) on the same terms.
